The new family!
First selfie at home! |
Azmi was born at 9:34am on Thursday, March 20, 2014 after 42 weeks and 4 days of living in her first home - the womb. She weighed 7.8 pounds and was 20 inches long. Azmi is our variation of the Hebrew name Oz which means strength.
Azmi's birth was extraordinary. Emily labored at home for two days in the care of our home birth team and then we transferred to the hospital for eight additional hours of labor. Our baby was finally born via C-section. We are grateful to everyone from our home and hospital birth teams and especially to our dear friends Rebecca, Cope and Kristina who supported us throughout our three day labor.

What a joy you will be Azmi. Your mammas look so happy. You look so healthy and beautiful. Grandma J

Another Kind of Welcoming!
for you both: my dear sweet sister/friend and her beautiful wife - WELCOME to that new kind of LOVE that you are both probably are experiencing as new mommies. It's that kind of being 'in-love'. You look at her, and I can only imagine the joy, in your hearts that she brings to each of you.
As she sleeps, as she will begin soon enough to coo, when she starts to walk, and before you know it, when it is her time to run! That love that you are feeling right now for her, is a love that is truly unlike any other kind of love. Be prepared my sweet friends, this state is infinite! That love, it never goes away. Welcome to motherhood!
